About Us
The Katahdin Inn is the perfect launching point for your adventure
in Southern Maine--even if that adventure is only as far as your flip-flops will take you.
Whether you plan to soak up all the nature, history, and culture
available within a one-hour radius, or just soak up the sun with
a good book and your toes in the sand -- the Katahdin Inn has been
the right spot for more than 125 years.
The Inn was originally designed as a guesthouse--so each room is
comfortable, cheerful, and unique. Rae and Bob LeBlanc have owned
and run the Katahdin for almost twenty years. In that time, they
have beautifully maintained the Inn--but resisted making too many
changes to the charm and layout of the place. Almost all rooms have
ocean views. Some have in-room baths, others share immaculate bathrooms.
All of the rooms have a refrigerator for your snacks and beverages.
Coffee is served in the morning--but not breakfast -- which allows
The Katahdin to keep some of the most reasonable rates in York Beach.
The Katahdin Inn has true character which keeps loyal vistors returning
for decades.
Check out our photo gallery to see the cozy interior, and call us
to determine which rooms are available. But don’t wait -- The
Katahdin only has nine rooms, so it fills up quickly!
Things to do: York Beach is just minutes
from Portsmouth, NH and a short drive to Portland. There’s too much entertainment to be had up and down the Maine Coast to list--but
here are a few of the popular activities that our customers come back for year after year:
Beach/Surf/Sail/Fish/Whale Watch/Kayak - Maine
has a stunning coast, and York is one of the most spectacular shorelines
in Maine. Calm or stormy, summer or winter -- the coast of Maine
is magic.
Great Food - Of course we’re known
for our seafood in New England, but there’s also nationally
celebrated cuisine of every kind, all up and down the coast.
Amusement Parks - York Wild Kingdom Animal
Park, Funtown, Old Orchard Beach -- fun for all ages!
Shopping - L.L.Bean, Portland’s
Old Port, Kittery’s Outlets, Portsmouth’s Waterfront
and so much more!
